Members earn fake money—Simoleons (§)—through posting. Each new thread will earn a member §10 and each reply will earn a member §5. Member also get §50 each time they move up a rank. Simoleons can be deposited in the bank to earn interest, invested in the stock market for potential profit, or spent at the shop on various profile upgrades.
Decimal money is not enabled, so all change is automatically rounded to the nearest whole dollar.
The Bank

The Bank can be accessed by clicking on the piggy bank icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can deposit/withdrawal a minimum of §20. Interest is earned once every day. The interest rate is 1.00%, or §1 for every §100 in your account.
The Stock Market
{hide}
The Stock Market can be accessed by clicking on the chart icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
The companies are based on sixteen different companies from the TS2 Buy/Build Mode catalogues – SOMA, Krampft Industries, Electronic Arts Inc., Smitty Classy, Quaint Design, Shiny Things, Inc., Gigantek, Maxis TM, Freezer Time Industries, E. Klektik, Lulu Designs, Sleek Sensations, Retratech, Lo-Fi Audio, Simplonics, and You Got Muscle. These fake companies pull their information from real companies off of Yahoo! Finance.
Note: The charts (graphs) for each TS2 company display the name of the real company in the upper left-hand corner of the chart itself. These charts come directly from Yahoo! Finance, and therefore, there is no way of disabling the name without disabling the entire chart. Please try your best not to allow this discrepancy to ruin the fun.

Previous Close: The stock price at the time of the previous day's closing. The arrow at the top indicates whether the bid (the current price) is higher or lower than the previous close. The numbers following the arrow indicate the price difference and the percent difference. A significant change in the previous close and current bid will typically mirror major change within the company (e.g. management change).
Open: The price that the first unit of stock was traded at for the current trading day.
Bid: The current cost per unit of stock—i.e., what you will pay to buy a single unit of stock.
Volume: The number of stock units that have been purchased during the current trading day.
Day's Low: The lowest price at which a unit of stock sold during the current trading day.
Day's High: The highest price at which a unit of stock sold during the current trading day.
1 Year Target: The projected best possible outcome for an investment, which would result in the most profit for a buyer.
P/E: Price-earnings ratio (share price divided by earnings per share), or how much a company earns on each of its units as compared to how much it spent. The average is 20 to 25 times earnings, and high P/E ratios generally indicate high growth rates for a company in the future. Companies that are losing money do not have P/E ratios.

The Shop
The Shop is a thread which can be found under the Suggestion Box board. Here members can spend their earned Simoleons on various profile upgrades, such as colored display names, custom titles, and fancy stars.
Members can purchase items from the shop by posting a reply in that thread with the relevant information and waiting for a staff member to make the necessary profile changes.
If you have any suggestions for items that can be added to the shop, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member or add a thread to the Suggestion Box.
