Who's up for some trick-or-treating this year!
We're hosting a play on trick-or-treating that will involve the earning of candy through completion of small, Halloween-themed gameplay achievements. Complete an achievement, and you'll get a piece of candy corn to display in your signature, up to 31 pieces. Complete at least fifteen achievements total, and you'll get the candy corn participation badge (
) for your miniprofile. Achievements can be completed with any household in any neighborhood, or multiple households in multiple neighborhoods. They can be completed with any game, in any combination—e.g., you can use TS2 to complete half and TS3 to complete the other half. And if you think you can make any of these work in TS4, you're welcome to try to do that too. They're designed to be integrated into regular gameplay. The only caveat is that you have to take a picture of your Sim(s) completing the achievement in order to get credit for it. You can claim your achievements by creating a new thread (do so here: TS2 or TS3) and posting all of your pictures in it.
When you create your thread, please copy and paste the list of achievements into your first post and cross them off as you go.
The achievements:
1. Dress a Sim up in a Halloween costume and leave him/her that way until the end of the month.
2. Decorate (or build!) a house for Halloween.
3. Throw a Halloween-themed party in one of your households.
4. Have one of your Sims adopt a black cat and name it something Halloween related.
5. Have one of your Sims adopt an orange cat and name it something autumn related.
6. Have one of your Sims adopt a dog that looks like a wolf.
7. Turn one of your Sims into a witch/warlock.
8. Turn one of your Sims into a vampire.
9. Turn one of your Sims into a zombie.
10. Gain one other type of supernatural Sim in your game (alien, plantsim, fairy, etc.)
11. Have one of your non-redheaded Sims dye their hair pumpkin orange.
12. Have one of your non-raven-haired Sims dye their hair jet black.
13. Create an e-card of your Sims wishing another member of the Unofficial BBS a happy Halloween and post it in their treat-or-treat thread.
14. Create a Sim for another member of the Unofficial BBS and post a download link to him/her in their trick-or-treat thread.
15. Makeover a Sim created for you by another member of the Unofficial BBS so that he or she is wearing a Halloween costume. Leave him/her that way until the end of the month.
16. Create a piece of Halloween- or autumn-themed CC.
17. Have a household visit the local graveyard and stay there until at least one person sees a ghost. (If you don't have a graveyard, build one!)
18. Allow a Sim's grave to remain at one of your households and scare the rest of the family throughout the entire month.
19. If one of your Sims happens to die from being scared by a ghost…you can claim this achievement.
20. Post a picture of a Sim playing in or raking up leaves.
21. Have a Sim harvest some seasonal autumn vegetables or fruits.
22. Have a Sim reach the top of the Paranormal Career Track.
23. Have your Sim watch a horror/spooky movie on the television.
24. Have your Sim write a horror novel (and write up a unique description for it!).
25. Grow some apples and put them in the juicer to made "cider" (apple juice).
26. Make a vampire lair in a Sim's home.
27. Make a witch's/warlock's den in a Sim's home.
28. Make a Halloween character from scratch (Frankenstein, Count Dracula, etc.)
29. Take a picture of your Sim having a nightmare.
30. Build a community lot with some sort of maze in it (a play on a corn maze/haunted hayride/haunted walk).
31. Build and design a creepy/haunted mansion for your 'hood. It should be large and decorated appropriately!
Please do not remove the candies from your signature. Staff will add and remove the images as necessary. All candies will be removed after October 31st, which is the last day of this challenge. You can begin claiming your achievements on
