Round Robin Legacy - Generation Four

Phew... Pulling in late thanks to delays at Procrastination Station and a little bit of Holiday Reluctance on the tracks, I have the very first installment of the fourth generation. And I've got over 400 pictures still to wade through/edit so I'm going to have to heartily apologise for the impending delay (apparently there's not an easy "batch" function on GIMP) and go back in time and slap myself in the face for leaving everything to the last minute. ("Why on earth are there fifty billion pictures of these two Sims playing catch?!" "What exactly is the significance of this bin?" "Whaaaa?!")

Gloria--complete with new hair and trousers simply because I didn't the have hairstyle she had in the right textures and I must have matching textures (and usually colours); parenthesis within parenthesis, love it--moved into this beautiful little box house, which may look like crap but...well, yeah actually it's a running theme in the decor. I'm no builder. It should be noted that I started a whole new game for this as I'm running a medieval game as my "main" one at the moment, but kind of felt that maybe it would be a bit hard to explain the sudden use of time travel as well as the inter-reality shifts in the Beebess family trees. Also it takes over an hour to load. And that's on a good day. But I digress.



She looks thrilled with her company. Who, at this point made up about 2/3 of the neighbourhood. Unfortunately neither were eligible. Not that she particularly minded, as she doesn't think much of either. 



Who needs friends to have a good time, though?








So her life began similarly to most legacies -- boring. She got a job in the Architecture path, goes to work, gets a promotion and doesn't make any friends. Everything is srs bznz with her. 



She could not be more thrilled with her lofty new title!



Aaah, the glorious Downton Downtown summons. 



"I've had it up to hear with these people trying to make friends!"
Needless to say, she goes along.



And, true to form, we run into a generic suitor. Ho hum, face two? Could do worse. Could also do much more interesting. His name's Kid. Which does not endear him to me. Not as much a deterrant as the jacket, I suppose. Except I seem to remember that, circa 2008, I used to put that jacket on all of my Sims.



She manages to endear herself to him however. 



There's absolutely nothing to lose by inviting him out for a date, am I right? It's already been two days of nothing, so it's about time something happened, whether his face is generic and his hair the same colour we've only just managed to break the family line away from. 



Kid by name, kid by nature, apparently. 







Cute I guess, but...



It's hardly passionate. 



Then, in a massive cloud of green sparkles The Grand Warlock shows up to throw cockroaches everywhere! Whee! His name is Vlad Sevigny, and he's cool.



Kid doesn't seem to bothered that his date is showing zero interest in him.



'Be strong, Kid. She'll never see you cry. Never!'



Vlad leaves, and by the looks of things Gloria would rather hang out with anyone but her designated date. Way to go!





Compulsory (if a little scary) date pictures!


 
"Such a great date. Look how happy I am. So happy. Wonderful time. I'll call you."

As you can see by my badly cropped pictures, it had turned to day at some point, so it was about time to head home. 



Where it was still night! So, just to confuse matters Vlad was invited round (because I was determined that they would be friends, wizards are awesome) but if you think about it they had yet to meet technically speaking and...I'm fairly certain there's a mod for this kind of continuity time skip. But I don't care. 



As you can see, there's not much there by way of rooomance. 



Kid came round in the morning, and I can't remember for the life of me whether he brought his friend with him or if she just didn't bother going home the night before. Gloria cared more about hanging out with the dog anyway. She would make a terrible popularity sim. 







Thankfully, demotions mean she got sent home from work early, but the "Walk to Work" function meant she could make it to her old/new position and so...

This is where things get interesting. I mean, look at the funds. $1066? Battle of Hastings!
Oh, and of course who is she phoning? I can tell you now, it's her future husband.

It was obviously ment2b though, they have the same LTW. 





So yeah, before they got married, Vlad moved in and was his adorable, sparkly self for a bit.



Gloria continued to rise up the ranks.



Ummm... Someone painted a house? (Sadly, the outside of their actual house remained sadly un-decorated)







It's not cheating to use ReNuYu stuff, is it?





Of course, the most romantic jammie-clad proposal ever.



"Gloria, I know I sound like the bad guy from a black and white horror movie..."



"And that we only really just met..."



"But would you...um..."



"Will you marry me?"





"Well, Glo, what do you say? Would you do me the honour?"



"Glo?"



"Gloria?"



"Are you still there? I'm gonna take silence as a yes!"





"Oh Glo, my darling, you've made me the happiest Sim this side of Veronaville!



"I...I think..."



A bit of game breakery tomfoolery later...
"I'm so glad you said yes, Gloria!"
"Wait, what?"



So, Vlad's turn-ons/offs have made a big difference. Or that error has planted a deep-seated screw up in my  game. Whatever. Also, worth mentioning that neither of them received an engagement memory or a ring, and still had the "Engagement" option open under "Propose..." so I have no idea what the heck just happened either. 







Whoops.









I figured that, just to keep everyone happy, I'd let them have a proper engagement. 



Convenient TV placement! Yay for ACR.



Today's the dayyy!





Nah, it's cool. Best to make sure to make up the hours before the biggest day of your life.

You may now break the groom's neck. *Sigh* And they say romance is dead. Like aforementioned groom, by the looks of things.







He's fiiiiiine.



So yeah, I chose to marry Vlad into the family. Because not only is he cute and sparkly...well, he's cute and sparkly. And he has the same name as my hamster.

So there you have it! More to follow. But it's 1:36 AM right now, so--even if I faniced an allnighter cropping pictures of the family who follow--it will be from tomorrow onwards. Sorrysorrysorry for the delay. It's my own fault. I've had it mostly played since the 23rd. I was just too lazy to do pictures.

Tee hee! I really enjoyed this, not just because of seeing how Gloria is getting on your game, but also because the antics of Vlad, Kid and that in-game error.  Now the couple have made it official, looking forward to seeing Gen. 5!

So our update begins with a visit from our friendly neighbourhood stalker. I turn my head and she's always just...there -- bit weird.



Not that it seems to be getting on anyone's nerves or anything.

...ERK. 





Yes, so family life for Gloria and Vlad ticks on. It's rather comfortable, I must say. 



Kid, however, proves to be somewhat of a thorn in Vlad's side. Though he does his best to appear to be friendly with his wife's one-time date, the truth is in the relationship panel.

However, it's only after his wife leaves the room that Vlad sees fit to get...even? More like petty revenge or something. I don't even know.

Also, destructive cat. It's like things just descend into havoc as soon as Gloria's out of the picture.





Ya think?!





It seemed like Vlad had spells to cast yet, but, the poor wee lamb tuckered himself out and passed out. 









Wow, Gloria, maybe a few less takeaways in future, hmm?



First snowfall of the season, on our freshly decorated house!




Then, who should stop by but, by the looks of things, Harry Potter! Well, by the choice of glasses, maybe Hippy Potter is closer to the mark...









Not sure that everyone'd share your opinions there, Vlad.



Guess who?!





So, Harry/Hippy/Whatever apparently found love with another walk-by who'd been invited in and I -- in my sleep deprived state, no doubt -- had seen it productive to take around twenty pictures of the two of them. However, because we need to get through this, I will have to leave them out. 



Gloria sits down with Vlad and attempts to change his mind about the appropriate way to meet someone new (don't throw balls at his face).



One quick subject change later...







Are they meant to do that?





Vlad sets about writing his own novel. 





Winter's Eve -- that calls for decorations, of course! (Especially given that it was around the same time as I was playing the game...)



Decorations and Santa were apparently not the only things on the way!



And, thus Noelle was born! Of course, given the date, Noelle was the only possible name. Of course. It had to be. 





Santa cookies had no sooner entered the oven when the big man himself saw fit to turn up! Yay, Santa!



Santa didn't take to kindly to the singed cookies.






Wait, what?! Santa leaves coal if you burn his cookies?! This was the first time I'd ever seen it. 



Don't get your hopes up there. 




Rude, Santa! You even misspelled the surname. (Of course that wasn't me. What are you talking about?!)



And as if that wasn't bad enough already... In fact, I reckon that was Santa's doing. After all, what do you do with coal? That's right -- fire. That's right, Santa Claus. I'm onto you. 
Suffice to say, it was not the best possible Christmas ever.















But they make it work! :3



Santa's back for round two -- throws another fit because there are no cookies. Winter's Eve was yesterday, dang it!







It also happens to be Noelle's birthday -- a nice ending to a great day.

And straight back to normal the next day.





It's a successful day for Vlad.





However, neither parent is extremely fond of spending time with Noelle -- strange considering the family sim nature Vlad has.





And just look how cute she is!





Vlad did step up to the mark eventually, and does spend a lot of time teaching Noelle her skills. 



Meanwhile...



So at this point, both parents were beginning to get a little run down, and I just couldn't get round everyone to make sure they were doing okay. Everyone's needs were chaos and I was about to give up. So, ho hum, aspiration object. That'll do the trick, surely?





...oh. 













"Okay, Bebeess, I'll let you off this time. Just stay out of my way for the forseeable future, alright? I've got no patience for you 'relative' sorts!"
'Just doing your job but oh no, suddenly you're the bad guy, just because they're dumb enough to get themselves killed! I don't even ask for sacrifices! Well, not anymore...'





Yay!





Oh, for goodness sake!

Hired a maid! Something that you really need in a family who have a collective of two neat points.

It's no wonder Glo doesn't look 100% happy with her promotion -- her family has taken the one way turning down Dysfunction Junction.





Gloria likes having her birthday on special occasions, apparently. 







She grows up cute -- the spitting image of her mother though!



That's not today's birthdays all done though!



"Wait, WHAT?!"



"Oh, for goodness...!"



"Gloria! We just got rid of the last eat-drink-poop energy drain! Have you no regard for my sanity?!"



"Your sanity! What about -- ARGH!"
"Oh, for goodness..."



"Okay, pull it together, Vlad..."



And April joins the family! I was trying to keep with the sort of weak theme of seasonal names, and I thought that one was quite nice.

Oh how time...flies.



April's birthday! More her Daddy's girl than her sister (in looks.) 





There's so much wrong with this little sequence of events.



...wha?? That was unexpected.





Not as unexpected as that!



Vlad's apparently got no idea...





Just a simple memory charm. Now to steal all his feats and claim them as your own, Vlad.



But that's not all...







I know you're just a Kid, but you should really have known better than to kiss an evil warlock's wife. 



Sometimes Gloria does her bit with her children.



But more often than not, it's easier just to let Vlad deal with them until they're not likely to throw up on you.





So caring...





I have to say, the birth of a third daughter -- Sandy -- was a little bit badly timed, and I totally forgot to take any pictures. But you've seen one cut screen, you've seen 'em all, right? 

Also as soon as she'd popped said child out, Gloria donned her work clothes and headed out to the architect's office. 





Umm, Vlad, isn't there something more important that you should be doing instead of dancing?



"I almost forgot! It wouldn't do to be late for work!"
So, at long last, we had to hire a nanny. 



They're not really neglectful parents. April learns to walk just before she ages up. 





...wow. That's some hairdo. 



It's also time for Sandy's birthday!



She grows up just as cute as her sisters did! However, whilst I can happily say that Noelle looks like Gloria, and April Vlad, it's much harder to see who Sandy resembles the most. I think it's Vlad. 





She's a sweet little thing! The quietest of the sisters, I'd say. 



I should have stopped encouraging him by now.





Umm... Noelle? Are you entirely sure you're old enough to have a job? When? How? Just...what.



I invited the headmaster! Might as well attempt private school, amirite? Even if the hair/tache combo is a little...odd.



Guess who hasn't ever bothered altering the wardrobe selections?



But what's this?







Noelle's birthday, of course! She grows up great. Unfortunately her stats will have to wait, because I forgot to crop the rest of the pictures -- soon though!

That is a very interesting glitch, it's hilarious and I love it! I also love the pictures from the videos! I have never seen someone take pictures of the cinematics before. I was actually planning on turning them off when it was my turn, but you've definitely changed my mind!

Vlad's name is freaking awesome to me, I don't know why. I just know that the next Sim I make will have to have that last name. "Sevigny." Very unique but not jibberish like how a lot of weird names like that seem. My love for the name might be because I'm tired, though.. maybe.

What is this awesome mod you have with the seasons? Lover's day?? I want. Is Santa part of that too? If I remember correctly, father time doesn't look like that. Then again, it's been a loooong time since I threw one of those parties.

Also, I really love the pictures of Christmas soo much! Just like the cinematic pictures, I never get to see pictures of Sims celebrating holidays! Definitely cool. Too bad I missed out on that fun. Maybe if I play during February I could do something for Valentines day. Who knows though.

Noelle and Sandy are very cute, although it isn't a huge surprise given the looks of their parents!

 Ah babies~ And all girls! I wonder whether this'll be a recurring trend? Anyway I loved this update. Vlad is such a great spouse with his wizardly revenge - though poor Kid.  I loved the antics, like the townie romance, though what a stingy Santa! I've never done any of the Festive Holiday stuff, so I always love seeing pictures of Christmas in other people's games.

The kids are all very cute! It'll take seeing them as teens to really see who they take after (particularly Sandy) but I think we'll have some good heir candidates.

So, time had been wearing on, as it does, and I realised that Gloria only had a few days left as an adult. She'd racked up enough aspiration points that we were able to get the Elixir of Life, and stock up a few more days. What with the giant age gap between Noelle and the other kids, I figured it made more sense to keep Gloria young for a while longer, to work towards her LTW if nothing else. 



Wow, Kid... Really? Really?!

In fairness, sometimes things do go according to plan, and it's like I had some semblance of control over their lives.







April's birthday!

Aww, everyone getting along. It's worth mentioning that whilst April and Sandy are best friends forever, Noelle is a distant older sister to the pair of them. Funny how that worked. I'm putting it down to the age difference when they were growing up. 

Hey, Gloria is suddenly conspicuous by her absence, isn't she?!



That's because she's on an outing downtown with Kid. (Yup, he's still hanging around.)



Look what you missed out on, girl!



This reminded me of their date, all those years ago. 



Aww. So nice to have you two getting along! 

And on that note, Gloria's last hurrah out on the town with Kid before elderhood with all her girls teenagers, I'm ready to pass the reins along to the next person. Just for the sake of suspense, I guess I'll make a poll and then everyone will be able to see how they grew up!

Aw this was a great entry to round off gen. 4. It was nice to see more of the girls and their zany father.  Must be fun having a dad who could turn your date into a chicken if he should take a dislike to them! Anyway, nice job with the girls! They're all so pretty (I must say, Noelle is an absolute CLONE of Gloria. In that smustle pic, they were proper peas in a pod) and that made voting hard for me.  I can't wait to see who'll be the next heir!
